Submission Guidelines
Please read and follow the guidelines for your fiction and poetry. Any submission that doesn't follow the specific guidelines will be dismissed immediately. We only accept poems and stories that haven't already been published and we cannot pay you for your work.
Fiction
- We will publish flash fiction stories no longer than 1,000 words
- Send up to 3 stories per submission
- Simultaneous submissions are ALLOWED (just notify us immediately if a piece gets accepted elsewhere).
- Send submissions to matblackmag<at>gmail<dot>com
- Please insert the @ and . into the address
- Fiction submission must be attached to the email in a Word document
- In the subject line, please include the words "submission" and "fiction" along with your last name
* ex. Subject: submission fiction- Johnson
-You may include a third person biography of a few sentences
Poetry
- We will publish all types of poetry. Prose, free verse, sonnet, anything you want to be read we will read.
- We will accept 1- 5 poems per submission
- Simultaneous submissions are ALLOWED (just notify us immediately if a piece gets accepted elsewhere)

- Please insert the @ and . into the address
- Poetry submission must be in the body of the email
- In the subject line, please include the words "submission" and "poetry" followed by your last name
